Located at the seafront, Alga is a classy nightclub featuring a variety of music styles, including popular American hits, R&B, Latin, and even music from the 60s. Friday and Saturday nights are the best time to visit Alga.

Asteras Paradise Beer House & Meze is no ordinary tavern. The contemporary interior and distinctive menu items along with the unique beer labels make it a dining experience. “Rebetika” music plays and there is an indoor playground to keep the kids happy.

If you would like a little culture with your cocktails, try Fotis on Agios Dimitrios Beach. Funky jazz music and artistic pieces fill the cosmopolitan interior of this classy restaurant.

Pirate Jazz & Blues has been around for a long time, but has recently undergone some stylish updates. The music – whether from a DJ or a band – is diverse and the seating is comfortable.

Sports and drinks:

A wide-screen television makes Amelie’s a favorite for watching all the popular sporting events. This old house has been transformed into a stately restaurant with a view overlooking the fishermen at Venetian Port. Amelie’s is open for breakfast, afternoon and early evening snacks, and drinks at night.

Locals head to Nikitas for watching sports and enjoying Greek sweets, French pastries, and coffee.

Delicious foods, great atmosphere

Damianos, which is located at the fishing port in Ambelas, features fresh fish and seafood dishes, all homemade. This classy restaurant is open during lunch and dinner, even in the offseason, and features a band on the weekends.

For dinner with an Asia Minor flair, try Ephessus, which offers dishes like Turkish meat pies, pizzas, and pinirli. Delivery is available, but many choose to eat in at a table near the cozy fireplace.

Tao’s Restaurant Bar touts a comfortable interior and a view across the channel to Naxos. The cuisine is Chinese and Thai specialties and live music, including percussion and string ensembles, play on the weekends. Open for Christmas and New Year’s.

Franca Scala is also open on Christmas and New Year’s, serving holiday buffets for the occasions. This stylish restaurant and bar is in a neoclassical building of the 1800s. Franca Scala is open on Friday evenings and all day Saturday and Sunday and features Mediterranean cuisine with an extensive wine list.

In the offseason, Rafeleti is open from dinner on Thursday until Sunday afternoon. It specializes in grilled meats and Greek cuisine. The locals recommend the “just out of the oven” meal served with souma, a Greek specialty drink made from figs.
